RANDOM WHIMS
RANDOM WHIMS
Created in one of those unpredictable moments when inspiration rushes in unannounced, like a wave you either ride or miss. I didn’t plan this painting. I simply followed the feeling.
The background came first: loose, bold, and expressive. I layered color with both brush and palette knife, letting instinct lead the way. Then, without overthinking, I carved in the silhouette of a city — a grounded, solid form standing quietly against the emotional chaos behind it.
This piece was inspired by moments of creative unpredictability, those flashes of emotion or thought that arise without warning and fade just as quickly. The city silhouette represents structure and daily life, while the vivid background reflects the unpredictable flow of inner experience: moods, thoughts, dreams.
To me, it captures that beautiful tension we all feel, the push and pull between the outer world and our inner storms. It’s messy. It’s layered. It’s real. And somehow, even in all that randomness, there’s meaning.
I hope this piece speaks to something in you — or at least invites you to pause, breathe, and feel for a moment.
